Nick Santoro's nihilistic approach towards figurative painting manifests itself in a naive fashion. His works often depict a cast of characters performing various tasks, participating in capitalist exchange/existence with varying degrees of banality. Santoro’s intimate observation of such environments are enhanced by the small scale of the works which become the dominant element of the artwork’s aesthetic.
Nick Santoro is a Sydney based artist. Santoro studied a Bachelor of Fine Art at the University of New South Wales, 2017 and has had a number of group and solo exhibitions. Most recently Santoro was a finalist in the prestigious Brett Whiteley Traveling Art Scholarship for 2017.
